The Hayward SPX1607Z1M Pool Pump Motor is a C-Face Mount style motor with a 56J Frame and is a 1 Horsepower Motor. C-Frame motors have a round “face” where the motor mounts to the pump with 4 bolt holes to attach the pump and a threaded shaft.
Hayward SPX1607Z1M 1 HP Pump Motors are used on Hayward Super II, Hayward Super Pump and Hayward Max-Flo Pumps. This is a genuine Hayward replacement part.
When replacing your pool pump motor you should always replace the shaft seal as well. The shaft seal is a 2 part piece made of rubber, metal and ceramic and keeps water from entering the pump motor. It is located near the impeller at the end of the motor shaft. Shaft seals vary between pumps so be sure to order the appropriate shaft seal for your pump.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Pumps and replacement motors that are single speed and one (1) HP or greater cannot be sold, offered for sale, or installed in a residential pool for filtration use in California, Title 20 CCR sections 1601-1609. We recommend either a dual speed or variable speed pump for California residents.
